Here is a tutorial how to install ClockworkMod version 5.5.0.4 on Htc Desire 310 single sim (Android version 4.2.2 with Build number 1.01.862.1)

Just in case create backup with MtkDroidTools v2.5.3 of your own rom, so you can later restore with SP-FlashTool if something go wrong brick, boot loop etc..

You must have rooted phone, I use RootGenius.

- Download RootGenius.apk
- Download Rashr.apk
- Download HTC-Desire-310_140314__recovery_150717-233800.img

- Install HTC-Desire-310_140314__recovery_150717-233800 with rushr apk

To boot into ClockworkMod you need to power off your phone first. Then, after it’s shut down, hold simultaneously the ‘Power’ button and the ‘Volume up’ button for a few seconds. Then, release them and you should see a list with ClockworkMod options. Or you can use apk called rebooter.apk

*: +rw = permanent root, changes to filesystem will be stored in /dev/mmcblk0p2. it has ~30 megabytes free, this should be sufficient for most changes and scripts.
BE CAREFULLY: if you delete or corrupt important system files and aren't able to boot anymore, you have to flash the "non-rw" root kernel+initramfs, go to /mnt/system/unionfs and remove the changes.

Then you have to the following:

1. Install SDE (you only have to do this only once, it will even survive a full reformat)

reboot Archos device and hold down "Vol-" button after screen went black

choose "Update Firmware"

connect your Archos device by USB to your computer

upload the SDE firmware file to your device

safely disconnect the USB connection

press ok on Archos device

reboot

2. Install android firmware

reboot Archos device and hold down "Vol-" button after screen went black

choose "Update Firmware"

connect your Archos device by usb to your computer

upload the Android firmware file to your device

safely disconnect the USB connection

press ok on Archos device

reboot

3. Install the custom kernel + initramfs

reboot Archos device and hold down "Vol-" button after screen went black

Go to "Recovery Menu" and then "Developer Edition Menu"

choose "Flash Kernel and Initramfs"

connect your Archos device by USB to your computer

upload zImage and initramfs.cpio.gz to your device

safely disconnect the USB connection

press ok on Archos device

reboot and hold down "Vol-" button after screen went black

choose "Developer Edition"

now you have temporary root (you always have to boot "Developer Edition" to get root again)

4. (optional!) permanent root

this it will boot always the custom kernel (to revert, reinstall Android firmware)

reboot Archos device and hold down "Vol-" button after screen went black

Go to "Recovery Menu" and then "Developer Edition Menu"

choose "Remove Android Kernel"

reboot

Force android to automatically install apps to sd card

Wondering why your Android phone keeps running out of memory? One of the answers could be that it’s crammed full of apps. By default the Android Market stores all of your apps on your device’s internal memory, rather than your larger SD card.

Don’t worry though because with a bit of patience and the help of the Android SDK it can be done. Start by downloading the following tools:

What you need to perform
Java Development Kit (JDK)
Android Developer Kit (SDK)
USB drivers (such as Google’s or these)

Now, on your phone, go to Settings > Applications > Development and activate USB Debugging.

1. Install the SDK and Platform-tools
To start, install the Java JDK, then the Android SDK. After having installed the SDKs, open the Android SDK Manager and check the Android SDK Platform-tools package. Then hit the Install button.

This package of tools contains the Android Debug Bridge (ADB), a utility that allows you to communicate with an Android device via command line. This is what you need to be able to tell Android to automatically install apps to a memory card.

2. Connect your phone to your computer
Now connect your Android phone to your PC using the USB cable. If the Sync program opens automatically in Windows, shut it down from the Task Bar (Right-click on the icon and click ‘Close’).

Bear in mind that not all USB cables are valid with all devices. In some cases, they won’t connect your phone to your device. Have more than one to hand just in case.

3. Open a command console and carry out checks
Go to Start > Run in Windows, or hit Windows+R and type cmd. In the command console that appears, switch to the directory ‘Program files (x86)’ or ‘Program Files’ and enter the path: Android/Android-SDK/Platform-tools. Once you’re here:

Type adb devices to see if your device is connected and recognized
You should see your device with its serial number listed
If it doesn’t show up or appears as offline, try with a different USB cable
Type netstat and check if port 5037 is in use
It’s this port that uses the ADB. If it’s in use, kill the process which is using it

Before continuing, it’s recommended that you deactivate any firewalls or antivirus on your system, because this can interfere with the ADB connection process.

4. Run the command to force apps to install on SD card
Android has a parameter that describes how to install applications on the mobile by default. This parameter is called setInstallLocation, and accepts three values:

0 [auto]: Lets the phone decide the best location for an app
1 [internal]: Installs everything on the internal memory
2 [external]: Installs everything on the memory card

As you might have guessed, you now need to change the value from 0 to 2 in setInstallLocation. To do this, run the following command:

If no error message appears, disconnect the phone, turn it off and reboot it. From now, all applications will install automatically on the SD card. If you want to revert back to the previous way, repeat the process, changing the 2 for a 0.

A word of warning
Certain applications, such as widgets, don’t run well from the memory card. If you experience problems you should move these apps from the SD card to the phone.

Requirements: S-OFF
- Download the radio file
- Rename it to PD98IMG.zip (this is important!)
- Move the file to your SD-card root (not in any folder)
- Download MD5 Checksum Checker
- Make sure that the MD5 provided with the download link matches with your downloaded file!
^ If not performed, you might risk bricking your device!
- If they match, you are ready to go! Power off your device.
- Hold the volume-down and powerbutton simultaneously
^ This will boot you into Fastboot/Bootloader
- You should see a screen with options
- Navigate to Bootloader (if not already in it) and press the powerbutton
- Wait for the flashing process to begin (it does automatically!).

- Enable USB debugging on your phone.
- Disable system tools such as firewall program, anti-virus software, and Samsung KIES to avoid interruptions throughout the procedure.
- Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.
- Make sure that your battery has sufficient power (at least 50%) to avoid interruption due to power loss.
- Download the following to your computer.
- Odin3-v1.85
- CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3

Instructions
1. Extract CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3.zip to your computer and you will get CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3.tar.
2. Extract the Odin3-v1.85.zip file into a folder on your computer to get Odin3-v1.85.exe. We recommend you extract it to the Desktop where you can easily find it.
3. Turn off your phone.
4. Put your Samsung Galaxy S3 into Download Mode by pressing the Volume Down key, Home button (middle key), and Power button together, then press the Volume Up button right after the screen turns on to finally enter Download Mode.

5. Connect your Samsung Galaxy S3 to your computer via USB cable.
6. Go to the folder where you extracted Odin3-v1.85.zip and double-click Odin3-v1.85.exe to launch Odin on your computer. You will know when Odin recognizes your phone if you see an “Added” message in its lower-left message box. If your phone is not recognized, there is something wrong with the installation of the drivers, so disconnect the phone and re-install them.
7. In Odin, click the PDA button and select the CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3.tar file that you have downloaded earlier.
8. Under Options, make sure that “Repartition” is not checked.
9. Click the Start button in Odin3 to flash CF-Root 6.3 on your Samsung Galaxy S3 and wait for it to finish.
10. Once the flashing is done you will get a “PASS” message with a green background on Odin, indicating that flashing is successful. You may disconnect your phone from the computer at this point.
11. Your phone will automatically reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery and the rooting procedure will begin, after which your phone will reboot once more into Normal Mode.

Great! You have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 or GT-I9300T and flashed ClockworkMod Recovery. You can now flash custom ROMs on your phone.

Pre-Requisites

1. An Android mobile phone (obviously) . For this process, we used a HTC Wildfire A3333 (Running on Eclair[2.1] or Froyo[2.2.1]). If you are in doubt check your device (Settings->About Phone->Software Information->Android Version)

2. The HTC Wildfire serial number should start with HT0******* [Its a Zero, not an O]

3. Memory card and cable

4. ADB Drivers ( A quicker way to do this, is to install HTC Sync and then uninstall it. We only need the drivers, not the sync software)

5. Hacked Boot Drivers

6. The “Revolutionary” tool.

7. The Root file (Download them here (1909))

First Things First

1. Charge your phone completely in Charge Only Mode.

2. Install HTC Sync and uninstall them

3. Install HBOOT drivers downloaded from the previous step

4. Enable USB Debugging in your device(Settings->Applications->Development->Check USB Debugging)

5. Extract revolutionary tools into a folder

6. Copy the root file on to the memory card of the HTC card. It should be on the root not inside any folder. Do not extract the zip file. Place the zip as it is on to the root of the memory card.

Beginning The Process

1. After the device is connected to the computer, give it a minute and then run “Revolutionary.exe” as an Administrator (If you are on a windows 7 or vista machine, right click and run as Administrator)

2. A command prompt opens and detects your device.

3. Take all the details it generates and go to the revolutionary website and generate a key(should be Alphanumeric).

4. Make sure you are connected to the internet

5. In the command prompt, when it prompts “Y” to install the ClockWordMod Recovery

6. After this downloading and installation completes, the command prompt closes automatically

7. Now look at your device, you should be seeing a HTC Bootloader, with S-OFF at the top.

8. Use the volume keys to select the Reboot Now option

9. Hold the volume down button for 4-5 seconds and press the power button on the top till the screen comes out.

10. Use the volume buttons to navigate. Select Recovery using power button.

11. The device should now boot into ClockWordMod Recovery mode.

Rooting

1. Select Install Zip from SD Card option and select the root zip file which we copied in the first step.

2. Now comes the hardest part. Wait, till the flashing completes. Then select Reboot Now

3. Switch on the device as usual now. You should see a super user application there.

Requirements

1. HTC Desire HD

2. PC running Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows XP, or Windows XP Home

3. Advanced Ace Hack Kit — Download

4. Backup your important files or store them on your phone’s SD card.

5. Enable USB Debugging by going to Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.

6. Set the default USB connection type on your phone to “Charge only”. Do this at Menu > Settings > Connect to PC.

7. Charge the phone’s battery to 70% or more (full charge recommended).

8. Make sure you have properly disabled/removed/uninstalled unnecessary software and services on your computer, including the following*
*Droid Explorer
*Apple services (e.g., Apple Mobile Device, Bonjour Service, iPod Service)
*phone, PDA, or tablet software

9. Disable your antivirus, firewall, and anti-malware security suites (including Windows Defender).

10. Uninstall HTC Sync.

11. Remove all existing drivers for your phone. Replace those drivers with the one provided in the AAHK package (see the installer file inside the “windrivers” subfolder inside the “tools” folder).

Warning

1. Make sure you know what you are doing before following this guide. We will not be liable for any damage arising from your use of this guide.

2. Certain firmware versions will compel AAHK to downgrade your phone’s firmware so that the rooting procedure can proceed. If the phone is downgraded to an earlier firmware, you will lose all data.

Instructions

1. If you are using Windows XP or Windows XP home, log in using an Administrator account.

2. Download the Advanced Ace Hack Kit from the links provided above.

3. Extract the AAHK archive’s contents into a folder on your computer.

4. Connect your HTC Desire HD to the computer via USB cable.

5. Open the folder where you extracted the AAHK files.

6. Run the script:
- Windows 7/Vista — Right-click on hack-ace.cmd and select “Run as Administrator” from the popup menu.
- Windows XP — Double-click on hack-ace.cmd. The script will work only if you’re logged in as Administrator.
- Windows XP Home — Double-click on hack-ace-xph.cmd. The script will work only if you’re logged in as Administrator.

7. Input PASS KEY and press ENTER

You will be asked for the pass key. Take a look in the file /tools/txt/CAJUN.TXT and copy the contents of that file to the command prompt.

8. Opening the AAHK script will bring you to its main menu.

9. Select option 1 (“Hack Ace”) to set off the series of procedures for rooting your HTC Desire HD. The script will:

- Convert your SD card into a goldcard
- Enable S-OFF on your phone
- Set SuperCID and remove the SIMLOCK for your carrier
- Flash ClockworkMod Recovery
- Root your phone permanently

10. Your phone will also undergo a series of reboots during the process. Do not interrupt the process in any way. The script will inform you as soon as it has completed its tasks.

11. To check if the hack kit worked, open a command prompt and enter the following commands (in italics):
- adb reboot recovery – ClockworkMod Recovery should start without any problem.
- adb reboot bootloader – This reboots your phone into the bootloader. The text on top of the screen should show S-OFF, and not S-ON.
- fastboot reboot – Reboots your phone.

12. Once the phone has completely rebooted, go to the phone’s app drawer and locate BusyBox Installer (included by the kit). Install BusyBox from within the app.

Congratulations! You have successfully rooted your HTC Desire HD.

Installation Instructions:
Download and install the .apk
Download the Base Files(need not download if you're upgrading from v11.2.5) and desired Maps
Extract/unrar and copy the file 'Aura' (the base files) into the path /sdcard/
Extract/unrar the Maps (the resulting folder should read something like 'xxx.yy.2013.01')
Copy that into the path /sdcard/aura/maps/
If you would like to place the files in your external memory, follow these paths: /sdcard/external_sd/ and /sdcard/external_sd/aura/maps/
Only for the FIRST time: Launch 'Sygic Downloader' that gets installed along with the app. You might have to download a small amount of data (~30 MB) for the first time. It verifies and should show 100% against the maps you have installed.
Close downloader and launch the app.
Please do not attempt to 'Activate' the product. Your app will go back to trial version if you do so.
OPTIONAL: You may use an email and password to log-in to Sygic when it prompts. You will get access to additional features like weather, etc. without affecting the app.

How to get the files that are used for the flash?

This application successfully decompressor the file(Winzip, 7-Zip, Winrar, etc..)

How do you use?

1) Download it from Download - Mirror

2) Extract the folder on your Desktop Odintrix

If you were to block (such as boot animation loop):

Remove the battery
Put the battery, wait 30 sec
Hold Vol Up, Home, Power simultaneously
When the logo appears, release the Power button
When the Recovery Menu, release the home button first, then the Vol Up
Select wipe data / factory reset (Vol Up + Down + Home)
Select reboot system now

Getting the Root

To obtain permission to Root at the time this is the only proven method.

Download the ZIP file: Download - Mirror

Copy the file to the Memory Card
Restart the device in recovery mode (Hold Vol Up + Home + Power)
Install ZIP from SD Card
Choose ZIP from SD Card
Select YES, install update
Reboot now

Install the ClockworkMod (Recovery)

At present the only ClockworkMod that can be installed is v5.0.2.6

This will also bring the phone to default settings

1. First do a CUSTOM reset: *2767*2878# (star 2767 star 2878 hash)
turn off the phone

2. take out the battery and sim and put wrong network SIM and insert a half of it,
so it won't ask for network password and shows "Insert SIM" message.
Now put the battery ,and switch the phone on .(phone shows "Insert SIM" message.)

3.With out turn off the phone push the sim fully in. At this stage the phone is still asking to "Insert SIM"

4. Make a FULL reset by typing: *2767*3855#(star 2767 star 3855 hash)

5. The phone should reboot working with "wrong" sim inside.

6. Make a Change the NCK password to 8 zeros by typing: *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#(star 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros star 8zeros hash)

7. Now Disable network lock By typing: #7465625*638*00000000#(hash 7465625 star 638 star 8zeros hash)
Phone is unlocked (check with *#7465625#)

If you find that SPLock is still on afterwards follow the below

After you do the reset, check and make sure that your network lock is active by pressing *#7465625#. If it isn't active you must use this code to reactivate it, *7465625*638*00000000*00000000#. Then you have to deactivate the sp lock first. To do that you need to input *7465625*77*00000000*00000000#, (this will reset the lock) then you enter #7465625*77*00000000# (to disable the sp lock). Then you disable the network lock #7465625*638*00000000# and the phone is finally unlocked.

Android: Force Moving Apps to an SD Card

This isn’t anything new but I thought I would share my experiences of trying to free space on my HTC desire by forcing apps to be movable to the sd card using the android SDK on linux.

WARNING: Ensure you have a backup of any important data before you start in case something goes wrong. Carrying out these instructions is at your own risk.

Running out of space is really the only annoyance I have come across since owning an android phone. Every now and again the low space icon comes up and you have to try and free up some space.

Since Froyo you’ve been able to move certain apps to SD card, but it’s only if the developer allows it. If you’re an android developer and you want to know how to do it..

So if you’re stuck with a bunch of apps you can’t move by default because “Move to SD Card” is greyed out in “Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Appname” then you might be thinking it’s not possible. However, it is possible to change the default install location to SD card via adb.

Introducing the Android Debug Bridge

Adb is the Android Debug Bridge which comes as part of the SDK. If you don’t have the SDK the first thing you will need to do is install it (get it fromdeveloper.android.com). Once you have the SDK you can find the adb tool in /platform-tools/, though in my case I have it at /tools/.

After you’ve installed the SDK you’ll need to connect your phone to your computer using the USB data cable. You’ll also need to make sure that debugging is possible by visiting “Settings -> Applications -> Development” and checking “USB Debugging”.

Enabling moving of apps to SD card

To change the the install location we are going to run the pm command via the adb shell. Here’s the details of the pm command:

The setInstallLocation command changes the default install location
0 [auto]: Let system decide the best location
1 [internal]: Install on internal device storage
2 [external]: Install on external media

To change the default install location to the SD card (which also enables moving most apps to the SD card.) run the following from the dir containing the adb command:

./adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2

If you at any point hit the following:

error: insufficient permissions for device

Try doing this:

./adb kill-server
sudo ./adb start-server

You should now find you can run the above commands without error.

Insufficient Storage Available

The other error I had was that when I was trying to move any app after changing the default install location to the SD card was something along the lines of “Unable to move application. Insufficient Storage”.

The way I got around this was to uninstall twitter which was using about 17mb (it was the largest app). After that I re-installed it and it used far less space (naturally as the data would have been removed by the re-install process). After that I was able to successfully move most of my remaining apps (twitter included) to my SD card.

Re-setting the installation location back to auto

I’d strongly recommend re-setting the default installation location when you are done moving apps. The reason for this is that apps will fail to be installed directly to the external location, at least this is what I experienced when trying to re-install the twitter app.

To reset the install location to automatic (let the system decide) use the following:

./adb shell pm setInstallLocation 0

Should you forget where it was left at you can always run:

./adb shell pm getInstallLocation

e.g:

$ ./adb shell pm getInstallLocation
0[auto]

ROOT:

1. Install Lastest Kies for Samsung Galaxy from samsung website into your pc

2.Download and install SuperOneClick by ShortFuse

3. Unmount your sd card under setting>sdcard and phone storage setting>Unmount SD card and then remove it from your phone[/color]

4. Set your SGA into USB Debugging mode by ticking it USB debugging mode under Setting>Application>Developement>tick USB debugging mode

5.Run Kies and connect your SGA to your pc using the cable (for safety reason don't use bluetooth or other connectivity)

6.Once your Kies show that your SGA is connected to your pc, Extract SuperOneClick into a folder using winrar.

7.Run SuperOneClick.exe as administrator.

8.Press Shell Root and the it will temporary root your phone and a small window will pop out
it shown
"Device has a temporary ADB root!
Reboot your device to remove it"

9 Click ok (don't need restart) and continue to press Root.

10. After finished root, it will pop a another small window called Test? and it will shown
Root files have been installed! Would you like to run a test? Press Yes

11. another pop out window will pop out and show "a su. blah blah blah...." Just press ok

12. and finally window will pop out title Rooted will shown

"Your device has been rooted!"
"Would you like to donate now?"
Press yes if you want donate or else press no

13. Unplugged and Reboot your SGA device.

Congratulation, Your SGA Device has been Rooted!
