Under my phones general settings, there is a category called accounts. This where you setup your gmail and other necessary accounts for your phones apps to use and connect with. When I looked in there, I noticed my gmail accounts were having “sync” issues.

Here are the steps.

Settings> Applications > All> Downloads or Download Manager > delete data.
Settings> Applications > All> Play Store> delete data.
Settings> Applications > All> Google Services Framework> delete data.

1. If you have only one google account which is causing issues, you will need to add an account. this is temporary, so you can add a friends or relatives gmail account to just fix this temporary issue, or just make a new account. If you have multiple accounts, you can move to step

2. Once you have two accounts or more on your phone, one good x bad, you can remove the bad syncing account. (probably has a red swirl next to it, or says can not sync.)

3. Once you have removed the account, remove any other bad syncing accounts. You should be left with only one, properly syncing account (green swirl)

4. Now, back out of google accounts menu, into your phones main “accounts” area. scroll down till you see “add account”.

5. Add the bad syncing account back in using the steps your phone asks when you select “add account”

6. Once you have the account reconnected, it will take time to sync.

7. Once it syncs properly, you should be able to go back to google play and start happily downloading again!

8. The message(error retrieving information from server RPC S-7 AEC-0) should not cause you any more frustrations, ever!

Create a Batch File to Easily Refresh Network Settings

If you are an emerging computer tech and you haven’t already become accustom to using the ipconfig command, you soon will. This command is most commonly used at the DOS prompt to see a computer’s current IP configuration. Using this command with three different switches also allows you to refresh a computer’s network settings which can be very useful when troubleshooting network issues. In the following tutorial, I would like to show you how you can create a batch file that will run this command along with its switches to quickly refresh a computer’s network settings.

Before we get started, it might be helpful for you to first understand what a batch file is. A batch file is a simple text file that can run a series of DOS commands when executed. They can be created using Windows Notepad or any other plain text editor. You simply enter the DOS commands that you would like to run and save the file with a .bat extension. You can then execute it by simply double clicking on it.

Lets get started.

Step 1: Click on the “Start” menu and go to “All Programs”. Go to “Accessories” and open “Notepad”.

Step 2: In Notepad, type in the following commands which will be run to refresh a computer’s network settings.

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /renew

It should look like this.

The “release” switch will release your current IP address settings. The “flushdns” switch will flush the DNS resolver cache. The “renew” switch will renew your IP address settings.

Step 3: Now click on the “File” menu and select “Save As”. Change the “Save As Type” field to “All Files” located near the bottom of the window. Now enter a “File Name” such as “Refresh.bat” without the quotes. It is important that you put the .bat extension on the end of the file name or you will not be able to execute it as a batch file. Choose a “Save In” location and click the “Save” button to save it.

Step 4: Now you can run your new batch file by double clicking on it.

After the batch file has finished executing, the computer’s network settings will be refreshed.

You can put this file on your desktop for quick access or on a flash drive to use on other computers. It can be run on any Windows machine including XP and Vista. Remember, these commands will only work if the computer is set up to obtain an IP address automatically and will not work if the computer has a hard-coded IP address.

Disk defragmenter cannot start becuase the task scheduler service is not running. Start the task scheduler service and try again.

Go to Start in search box type services.msc, then go down the list and find "Windows Event Log" if it's disabled, right click on it and go to properties and set it on Automatic. Press OK and right clik on Windows Event Log, press Start wait few seconds. Now find (also in services.msc) Task Scheduler. And right click on it and press start.. few seconds and disk defragmenter should be working ;)

Nighmare Stage

Nightmare Stage (Croatian: Noćna Mora) is a late night talk show on Croatian TV station Z1 hosted by maverick traveller and author Željko Malnar.

The contact anti-show, airing live on Saturday nights 22:00-03:00 (sometimes to 04:00), pushes the boundaries of television programming. The host throws all tact and taste through the window, taking rough manners from the street to the screen without either diluting them with etiquette or stylizing them for theatrical effect. He asks his guests uncomfortable and aggressive questions in order to expose their flaws and often resorts to flat insults. The show also has elements of a freak show, featuring pitoresque recurring characters with unusual mental makeups (nicknamed Cezar, Tarzan, Jaran, Remzo, Laki, Ševa) from the streets of Peščenica, Malnar's neighborhood in Zagreb. Malnar has ostensibly proclaimed Peščenica an independent Republic of Peščenica with him as president and this cast as his cabinet. Often is the case that phonecallers and the hosts and guests of this show insult each other.

Show sometimes ends with Malnar's angry message to viewer(s)/caller "Jadnici, ugasite televizor i idite spavati! Idiote, zar nemaš pametnijeg posla, nego gledati televiziju u tri ujutro! Hajde, laku noć! Što je, bijedniče, nemaš novaca za biti vani, nego moraš mene gledati na svome malom crnobijelom televizoru?" (You poor people, turn off the TV and go to bed! You idiot, don't you have a better thing to do at 3AM than watch TV? Come on, good night! What is it, you poor thing, you have no money to go out on Saturday, so you have to watch me on your small black and white TV?)

Nightmare Stage is also the title of a column written by Malnar regularly appearing in the weekly Globus. Globus invited Malnar to move his show to their pages when it was banned between 1994(?) and 2000.

In 2002(?) Nightmare Stage hosted Dennis Rodman who came to Zagreb only for the show after his Croat friend showed it to him through internet streaming. When the usual receiving of viewer's telephone calls occurred, many female viewers flirted with Rodman and wanted sex with him. He readily invited them to his hotel room and told them the address while being live in the studio.

In 2004 the cast of the show starred in a feature film of the same name.

How to Fix Shockwave Flash Crashes in Google Chrome

The Shockwave Flash Crash that we experience while browsing sites with flash content(such as Youtube) is quite common. But recently it has increased quite a bit, up to the point that browsing has become really annoying, and using sites like Youtube is a real pain in the butt.

This is very annoying, since the crash is browser wide and we have to refresh every single page that had flash content in order for the Shockwave Flash Player to reload. You lose all your progress, if any, and also all the buffered content while watching videos.

Unlike other browsers, Google Chrome is particularly more susceptible to these kind of crashes. Read further to find out more and how to fix it in Google Chrome.

What Causes It?
Google Chrome unlike other browsers has an internal Flash Plugin of its own. By default, it does not use the Flash Plugin that you install in your Operating System(Windows/Mac).

For some reason, Chrome sometimes gets confused which plugin to choose, the OS one(Windows/Mac) or the one which it has internally, so instead it chooses both. This causes lag in the browser, or in the worst case, causes the whole plugin to crash.

So how do we fix this issue? The answer is simple, disable the plugin that is provided in Chrome internally.

Steps to Fix the Sockwave Flash Crash
Following are the steps to fix the Shockwave Flash Crash in Google Chrome.

1. Open Chrome's Plugins page

Open Chrome and type "about:plugins" in the address bar and hit enter. This will open the plugins page of the browser.

2. Click Details

Click "Details" on the top right corner of the page in order to see the whole content.

3. Locate the Shockwave Flash Plugin

Locate the Shockwave Flash Plugin on the page, which is usually the first one. It should indicate "2 files" next to the name, if not this tutorial is not for you, probably you have some other problem with your Flash Plugin.

4. Disable the File installed in Chrome

If there are 2 files, carefully check the value of the Location field of both the files and find the file that has been installed internally in Chrome. Once you have found it, simply click on the Disable link provided below the location value to disable it.

5. Restart Chrome

If you have done all the above steps restart Chrome for the changes to take effect. If everything is done right, Shockwave Flash will not crash like it used to before.

Kreiraj ADSL konekciju bez korištenja CD-a koje daje T-com:

Idi u Control Panel (Upravljačka ploča > Network Connections (Mrežne veze). U gornjem lijevom kutu klikni “Create a new connection”(Stvori novu vezu).

Klikni na Next, zatim odaberi “Connect to the Internet” pa opet na Next.

Odaberi “Set up my connection manually” da ručno napraviš konekciju. Klikni Next.

Zatim odaberi “Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password”. Klikni na Next.

Quote

Upiši naziv konekcije, npr. ADSL. Zatim klikni na Next.

Follow the instructions step by step how would you recharge your android as best as possible. We offer you two ways how to do it, nothing easier.

1. Power on your Desire then connect to your Charger and Fully charge until the LED changes Green.

2. Disconnect your phone from the charger and then power off.

3. Reconnect your phone to your charger with the power off and wait for the green LED.

4. Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.

5. Once the phone has fully booted / ready to use ... power off again.

6. With the power off connect the phone to the charger and wait for the green LED.

7. Disconnect from the Charger then power on and use normally.

8. Open recovery and delete battery stats.

1.Connect the phone to the charger with the phone powered on, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green, indicating the device is fully charged.

2.Disconnect the phone from the charger, and power it off.

3.Reconnect the phone to the charger with the phone powered off, and allow the phone to charge until the notification LED is green.

4.Disconnect the phone from the charger and power it on.

5.Once the phone is powered completely on, power it off again and reconnect it to the charger until the notification LED is green.

6.Disconnect the phone, power it on in clockwork recovery, and wipe batt stats. You need to use this sequence only once.

Mašta krivotvoritelja nema granica, no još uvijek je najčešći način zloporabe neovlašteno korištenje osobnih podataka. Čak dvije trećine kartičarskih prijevara u Velikoj Britaniji odnosi se na krađu podataka kao što su datum rođenja, poštanski broj i lozinka za internetsku prijavu. Slična je statistika i u ostalim zemljama.

KRAĐA IDENTITETA (PHISHING) – vrlo su česte e-mail poruke u kojima pošiljatelji, koji se lažno predstavljaju kao predstavnici banke, kartičarske kuće ili čak Ministarstva financija, traže osobne podatke kako bi “unaprijedili razinu sigurnost” ili čak tvrde da će na račun uplatiti novac koji iz nekog razloga korisnik kartice ili računa treba dobiti natrag. Uobičajeni su i “linkovi” koji vode na web stranice koje “glume” stranicu banke, kartičara ili tvrtke, na kojoj se korisnik logira i prevarantu servira svoje podatke. Naziv “phishing” u doslovnom prijevodu znači “pecanje”, a jasno je što se dalje događa onome tko se upeca.

SKIMMING – naziv dolazi od engleske riječi koja bi se mogla prevesti kao “skupljanje vrhnja”. Vrhnje su u ovom slučaju podaci s kartica i računa koje krivotvoritelji najčešće skidaju s bankomata posebnim čitačima u trenutku dok korisnik kartice obavlja bankomatske transakcije. Oprema za takvo skidanje podataka odlično je uklopljena u izgled bankomata i uistinu ju je teško primijetiti. Podatke koriste da bi napravili lažne kartice kojima pokupe novac s računa.

“JEDNOSTAVNA” KRAĐA – najčešće je popratna pojava otimanja lisnice ili torbe, a ako osoba karticu čuva u novčaniku, velika je šansa za zloporabu. Ako je posrijedi “charge” kartica koja dolazi na naplatu s odgodom, u dućanu se samo potpisuje izvadak, a potpis trgovci gotovo nikad ne uspoređuju s onim na osobnim dokumentima. Tad se šteta može napraviti potrošnjom u dućanima. Još je gore kad je posrijedi debitna kartica uz koju je ostavljen i PIN (osobni identifikacijski broj). Tad se može podignuti gotovina, jednako kao i na “charge” ili “revolving” karticu s odgodom plaćanja, uz PIN.

“ZALUTALE” KARTICE – to su kartice koje je kartičarska kuća poslala na adresu nakon isteka starih kartica ili netom nakon izdavanja, a nikad nisu stigle do pravog korisnika kojem su namijenjene. Netko ih je ukrao usput ili iz sandučića. Kartičarske kuće stoga sve više inzistiraju na osobnom podizanju kartica.

“NIGERIJSKA” PISMA – na hrvatskom su tržištu čudni mailovi dolazili najčešće iz te afričke zemlje, iako nisu njihova ekskluziva. Primatelju se pošiljatelji predstavljaju kao bivši dužnosnici svrgnuti s vlasti ili čak američki vojnici i nude mu “izvrsnu poslovnu priliku” tražeći pritom njegovo sudjelovanje u transferu novca koji je ostao zarobljen na računima nakon silaska s vlasti ili odlaska iz zemlje. Pritom nude visoke provizije, i do 30 posto, a obično treba platiti neke “troškove”. Poruke su pisane osobno i ciljano na primatelja, nisu “cirkularne”.

LUTRIJSKI DOBICI – ponovno je posrijedi mail s obavijesti da ste upravo vi sretni dobitnik kojemu trebaju uplatiti novac, vrlo često iz Velike Britanije ili Španjolske. Naravno, za uplatu je potreban broj računa, banke, telefona, kopija putovnice... Nasjedne li naivac, nakon toga se traži i njegova uplata za troškove transfera. Može se pretpostaviti što slijedi.

Nešto više od četiri milijuna stanovnika u Hrvatskoj koristi više od devet milijuna kartica. Naprave najmanje 200 milijuna transakcija na godinu. Čak tri milijuna stanovnika koristi se internetom, a prema podacima BizDila, online sustava nabave, 90 posto (2,7 milijuna) ih je barem jednom napravilo internetsku narudžbu. Svi su oni izloženi opasnosti od zloporaba i prijevara koje su u kartičarskom svijetu poznate pod nazivom “fraud”, prijevare. No, čak i ako nikad nisu i nemaju namjeru trgovati internetom, dovoljno je da su novac slučajno podignuli na pogrešnom bankomatu, onome na koji su prevaranti instalirali opremu za kopiranje podataka i krađu identiteta – “skimming”. Može li se tome stati na kraj i kako? Veliki broj kartica kojima se mogu obavljati online transakcije već je prilično dobro zaštićen naprednom čip tehnologijom i zaštitnim protokolima, poput tehnologije 3D Secure. No, ponekad ni to nije dovoljna zaštita; i oprema kojom se koriste kriminalci sve je sofisticiranija, a nerijetko je dovoljno da karticu netko neovlašteno koristi ili ukrade. No, čak polovica šteta nastalih zloporabom kartica odnosi se na krivotvorenje, ostalih 50 posto zajedno čine krađe, korištenje kartica koje su poslane na adresu korisnika, a netko ih je na tom putu “presreo” ili su problemi nastali u internetskoj trgovini. Donosimo opis najčešćih prijevara i savjete kako ih prepoznati te na minimum smanjiti mogućnost da jedna od zloupotrijebljenih kartica bude baš ona iz naše lisnice.

Kako se zaštititi: 10 savjeta korisnicima kartica

1. Pažljivo čuvajte kartice, one su zapravo novac. Najbolje je ne držati ih s novcem u lisnici, nego odvojeno, u nekom drugom pretincu ili posebnom omotu.

2. Kartice i podatke o njima ne ustupajte trećim osobama, čak ni ako u njih imate povjerenje. Za prijatelja ili člana obitelji možete podignuti novac koji mu želite dati ili napraviti dodatnu karticu. Nikome ne otkrivajte PIN.

3. Ne držite karticu s PIN-om, PIN je najbolje imati zapisan kod kuće na skrovitu mjestu ili ga kamuflirati u imeniku mobitela, “zaokruženog” drugim brojevima koji vama nešto znače.

4. Pri plaćanju u restoranima, na benzinskim crpkama ili bilo kojem drugom prodajnom mjestu, ne dopustite da vam kartica izađe iz vidnog polja. Tražite da se transakcija provede ispred vas.

5. Kad koristite bankomat, obvezno zaštitite rukom tipkovnicu na kojoj unosite PIN. Pokrivanje tipkovnice rukom može vas zaštititi i ako je postavljena oprema za “skimming” i kamera. Potrudite se da osobe koje čekaju iza vas poštuju prostor diskrecije, ako je potrebno, to ih zamolite.

6. Niste dužni u hotelu dati karticu da bi recepcionari “bjanko” provlačenjem, bez iznosa, imali osiguranje za slučaj štete.

7. Nikad, ali baš nikad, ne šaljite podatke o kartici, banci ili svom identitetu e-mailom, na bilo čiji zahtjev. Karticu podignite osobno, a ne poštom. Instalirajte dobar antivirusni program na računalo.

8. Ne nasjedajte na priče o poslovnim prilikama, dobitku na lutriji ili sličnim nebulozama. One ne mogu biti vjerodostojne. Nikad.

9. Ako još imate magnetsku ili općenito karticu s nižim stupnjem zaštite, od izdavača zatražite onu s boljom zaštitom. Oprema za krivotvorenje je skupa i uvijek se prije ide na lakše mete, one s manjom zaštitom.

10. U slučaju gubitka ili krađe kartice odmah nazovite izdavača i blokirajte je. Broj unesite u mobitel da ga ne morate tražiti zaobilaznim načinima i tako skratite vrijeme u kojem kriminalac može napraviti trošak.

3. Email Facebook at disabled@facebook.com . It may took 2-3 days for a response. It ask about your name, date of birth and a brief description of problem. They most likely ask you to confirm your identification with a DL or passport. After that they will send a reactivation link, assuming may you haven't violated any policies.

Preventive Measure :

10 easy steps

To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router's wireless settings configured and also the wireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured with the router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.

To set-up and secure the wireless router from unauthorized access, follow these steps:

1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.

2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL IP address.

3. Enter the router setup, login and password

4. Change the admin password

5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.

6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WPA2 (if not then WPA). The encryption key can be easily set up using a passphrase (it can be an alpha numeric phrase or words).

7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.

8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.

9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.

10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router via the wireless connection.
For the computers and laptops to connect to the Internet you need to connect the DSL or cable modem with a LAN cable to the WAN (Internet) port on the router.

Well, I haven't seen this problem before so I can only advise you on a couple of basic steps that I would take.

1. Switch off your phone.
2. Remove battery, SIM, and memory card and leave phone like that for at least 30 seconds.
2.1 If you have an SD card adapter or a USB Micro SD card reader, try putting your Micro SD into that and connect it directly to the computer to see what happens. If you still can't access it then it must be a problem with the memory card.
2.2 If you have connected the memory card directly to the computer try to see what the file format is. It should be FAT32 with a 32Kb alocation unit. This file system offers the best space / performance ratio for large memory card of 2GB or more.
3. Now, put your memory card, SIM and battery back in and switch it on again and wait for about 5 minutes to be 100% sure that all startup applications are up and running.
4. Go to the Setting > Connect to PC and mare sure the 'Ask me' option is selected.
5. Now, while making the sure the screen is NOT in standby (i.e. screen is not off and not locked), connect the phone to the computer.
6. The phone should ask you on-screen what type of connection you want.
7. Select 'Disk Drive' and click on done (or whatever the OK button is, I don't know it by heart).

Now, if you still can't access the memory card from you computer then you may have a problem. The next thing I would do is make sure that the USB port on the computer is not damaged or something. So, just to make sure, try connecting it to a different USB port. You should also try to connect it to a different computer and see if that works. Because if it does, it means that there may be a problem with your computer.

Svim vlasnicima pametnog telefona s Android mobilnim operativnim sustavom s vremenom kako izlaze nove, zahtjevnije aplikacije problem postaje brzina i vijek trajanja baterije. Stoga niže u postu donosim nekoliko stvari koje možete napraviti u svrhu boljih performansi, dužeg trajanja baterije.

Custom ROM
Prvo što vam može pomoći je instaliranje custom ROM-a, jer upravo svrha tih custom ROM-ova je podizanje performansi tako što su sve nepotrebne funkcionalnosti i aplikacije po defaultu izbačene. Danas vjerovatno napopularniji custom ROM je CyanogenMod i ako ste sreće da je napravljena verzija upravo za vaš mobilni uređaj instalirajte ga. Ako ste laik na tom području i niste sigurni što radite preporuka je svakako prepustiti to nekom s iskustvom

Third Party Launcher
U slučaju da instalacija custom ROM- nije opcija riješenje može biti instalacija nekog third party lounchera tipa: LauncherPro, AWD Launcher … Njihov zadatak je omogućiti vam izvođenje gotovo svih funkcionalnosti koje imate i sad no s mogućnošću veće customizacije i u većini slučajeva s puno manje potrošenih resursa. Iskreno bolje žrtvovati neke widgete i oku ugodne animacije, nego u 15h popodne ostati bez baterije.

Nekorištene aplikacije
Sve što ne koristite ili ste instalirali iz čiste znatiželje deinstalirajte, jer određene aplikacije ostavljaju aktivne procese čak i kada se ne koriste.

To možete napraviti u glavnom izborniku klikom na Google Play / Menu / Moje aplikacije ili klikom na Postavke / Aplikacije / Skinute aplikacije.

Widgeti i ikone (gumbi)
Svaka ikona i widget zaseban su potrošač resursa, stoga sve nepotrebno, tj. ono što ne koristite svakodnevno uklonite. Najveći potrošači su zapravo widgeti, jer većina njih zahtjeva i redovno (ažuriranje) skidanje podataka s Interneta.

Uklanjanje se radi tako da zadržite prst na widgetu i kada ekran pocrveni povucite widget do ikone s košem za smeće.

Live Wallpaper
Koliko god su oni sa svojim animacijama lijepi i zanimljivi toliko i baterije troše, stoga postavite nekakvu statičku sliku.

Negdje na ekranu gdje nema ikonica zadržite prst i otvoriti će se izbornik za upravljanje wallpaperima.

Animacije
Ista je stvar i sa oku ugodnim animacijama sučelja, stoga ih isključite jer nema koristi ukoliko vam mobitel “trza” i bori se s njihovim izvođenjem (prikazivanjem).

Ulazite u Glavni izbornik s aplikacijama / Postavke / Zaslon / Animacija gdje odaberete bez animacija, samo neke animacije ili ostavite sve animacije.

Sinkronizacija
Matematika je i ovdje jednostavna što manje vrijeme sinkronizacije to se češće puta neki proces izvodi i samim tim troši resurse. Povećavanje vremena za određene aplikacije ili widgete tipa vremenska prognoza svakako ćete uštedjeti.

FAQ for LeeDrOiD-EVO3D

Q1: How do I flash this ROM?
Assuming you have S-Off, and have installed recovery – Reboot the phone into recovery (Vol Down + Power [In power off mode] and select recovery. Select “Install with Zip from SD Card” – Select the ROM from your SD and press power – Confirm and you are good to go.*

Q 2. What is S-OFF or Recovery?
A detailed explanation on how to is here.

Q 3: Which radio should I use?
This is a trick question. According to many users over the years, they have recommended to change the radio only if you are facing troubles with the current one that you are using. Radio is a very very very location specific thing. So, what works for me, may not work for you. Generally, Lee will put in the recommended radio in the first post.

Q 4: Is the radio included in the ROM? How do I flash?:
No, you will need to flash the radio separately.
Easiest steps to flash a radio is (assuming you have sdk and HTC Drivers and are SOFF) – Put the radio.img in the folder where fastboot is under sdk\tools – Turn off your phone and and reboot into Bootloader and select fastboot, connect the phone to the pc – now you show see Fastboot USB on the phone.* – Goto command prompt on your pc. Goto the folder with Fastboot. – Type*fastboot flash radio radio.img*and watch it write the new radio.

Q 5: Right or recommended order of flashing?
Wipe>ROM>Reboot> Radio.

Q 6: Should I use a task killer on the LeeDrOiD ROM?
Checkthis and decide for yourself. “Lee would say NO”.

Q7: Backup? What is that?
Its always a good idea to back up all of your data and settings before flashing a new rom with a full wipe. Best app available is Titanium Back up(included in the ROM)
The best way to back up the contacts is to sync it via HTC Sync, via your gmail or export them to you SD card using the “People” application.

Q 8: Is Nandroid and Titanium backup the same thing? How do I manage backups?
No, Nandroid backs up each and every individal partitions and stores them as .img files, Titanium backs up applications and user data. A Nandroid backup is done via the recovery menu and makes an exact image of your device in its current state.

Q 9: On what occasion will I lose my data (apps, contacts etc)?
Only when you apply the full wipe or the super wipe (see next question, A3). When you just flash a rom or a .zip from recovery, it will not wipe anything unless otherwise mentioned.

Q 10: I was on stock (or another rom from another cook) and I flashed LeeDrOiD ROM, now I am having some problems.

1. Try rebooting the Phone and see if it makes a difference.
2. Reboot into recovery and clear cache and dalvik, reboot the phone and clear data of the apps causing problem.
3. If nothing else works, then use the Full Wipe from the first post above or “SUPERWIPE”. Beware: A superwipe/ full wipe will erase EVERYTHING on the phone.

Q 11: How do I flash Full wipe or Superwipe and what does it erase?
Copy the .zip to the SD Card and flash it via recovery. DO NOT REBOOT once it is done, flash the ROM straight after. The full wipe will erase data, cache, system and format the partitions to EXT4. Superwipe will erase data, cache, system, boot and system files on SD card (EXT4 again).

Q 12: The screen is not very responsive and is lagging.
Let the phone settle down a bit after you unlock it. It generally needs a few seconds to kick up the CPU. Some discussions on the screen responsiveness and a market app here.

Q 13: The market is not installing anything. Gives error.
Reboot into recovery and select “clear cache partition”. And under settings – applications – Manage applications – under the Market app < Clear Data>.

Q14: I don’t like the CRT on and off animations, what can I do to disable these?
Look what LeeDrOiD has to say.! INCLUDED IN THE LATEST VERSION

Q15: My battery is draining heavily*.
When you first flash a ROM this is what happens. Give it atleast one full charge cycle and it should come back to normal. If required, reboot into recovery and clear battery stats. It is advisable to do so on 100%. Here is the*battery caliberationapp from the market. You can try this.
UPDATE; Battery Caliberation is now included in the rom!!!

Q16: Should I run the phone battery to zero percent, and what if it does??
Absolutely not! Both the current recoveries are giving problems while pulling the battery up from zero percent. If the phones dies off due to battery being zero, look here, might help.

Q 17: I am getting random lines across my screen on some widgets.
This is a fairly common problem, see here. A quick fix is to remove the widget and re-apply it or to use a different skin.

Q 18: MMS Problem? Picture size small?
Please check your APN settings. Or check outShroomster’s. It has worked for a fair few people. Also, try the patch from here

Q 19: Some games that use the motion/G sensor are not working as they should.
Re-Calibrate your Gsensor – Settings – Display – Gsensor Callibration

Q 20: My wifi calling is not working (TMOUS).
Apply the wifi calling patch from the OP

Q21: I dont like the animations. Dont want them.
Go to spare parts, and disable all animations OR go to settings – display – animations.

Q22: How do I disable or change the boot sound?
A: You will need to a root explorer to do this. On your phone, using the root explorer, navigate to data\local. Rename the file android_audio.mp3 and reboot.. Viola – No more boot sound. To change, rename the one you want as the boot sound to andoid_audio.mp3 and place it in data\local folder. Or go to LeeDrOiD Tweaks\bootanimation sound.

Q 23: And the bootanimation?
Data\Local again. Replace the bootanimation.zip file with the one you want. The new file must be named bootanimation.zip.

Q 24: Can I modify frequencies using SetCPU?
Avoid set cpu at this stage. It is causing much troubles. The app needs to be updated for dual core usage.
EDIT: AVOID SETCPU in this version. RECOMEND SYSTEM TUNER!!!!!

Q 25: GPS Problems?
Try*faster fix app*from the market. Has helped a few members.

Q 26: SuperUser Force closes.
Goto Setting – Application – Manage Application – Super user – Clear Data. And, go to Super user application and click the right most icon on the top of the application (top right corner) and re-update the binaries. Also, go to settings and disable logging, its a bug in su3.

Q 27: The Evo restarts itself?

Q 28: How do I get the 2 way call recorder to work?
Install the apk and activate it. First time, call your Evo from another phone and answer your Evo, it will record. Now on, it will record all outgoing and incoming calls.. Now on, it will record all outgoing and incoming calls.

Installation error

The solution? Go and delete smdl2tmp1.asec yourself. From what I can tell, it could reside in 2 locations:

1. /sdcard/.android_secure - this is an invisible folder on your SD card, which you can access with any file manager, like ASTRO
2. /mnt/secure/asec/ - access to this folder requires root and a program like Root Explorer

Look for smdl2tmp1.asec in these folders and delete any ones you see. Deleting it seems to be a safe enough operation - it's just a temporary file after all. Once you've done that, all the update problems should go away.

Recently I got a Google Android mobile phone "Samsung Galaxy GT-S 5570i". While I'm loving playing with it, I also found some interesting secret codes which can enable/disable lots of hidden settings in the mobile phone. These codes can also show many useful information about the phone.

So in this topic, you'll get several hidden secret codes which can be used in any Google Android mobile phone to access things which are not accessible by default.

These codes have been obtained by decoding various .apk files present in the phone firmware.

YouTube was created in 2005, but much like Google, it feels like it’s been around forever. We post our videos on YouTube, look for some silly entertainment during boring afternoons and send videos along to friends much like old ladies used to spread gossip around town not very long ago.

But should you be limited to YouTube? Let’s be honest, there is a whole world of streaming video online that most people have never seen because they have settled for YouTube. Most sites have the same features, or features even better than YouTube has and some have a more specialized selection or much higher quality videos.

So here is a small sample of video sites you should check out that many people feel are better than YouTube.

Current TV

Current TV is a website that is also a TV channel, but unlike all other tv sites, that post their content from tv on their sites, Current plays the content from their website on TV. People post their videos, or pods, on the site which get voted by the community and the highest ranking ones get on their television channel. Current has an enticing variety of videos, but the heart of the site is its amazing independent journalism. On Current, you can see all the reports that usually don’t get on television, or a whole new approach to the news you do see. TED

TED is unique in the world of streaming video, and it is brilliant in its own way. Big Think

Following a very similar style to TED, Big Think takes an interview approach to its video instead of a prepared talk. It’s not as evolved as TED is, but it is certainly biting at its heels.

Atom

If you think YouTube videos are funny, you’ve never visited Atom, previously Atom Films. With an enormous array of animations, comedy shorts and sketches, Atom hasn’t lost its edge after its acquisition by MTV. Because of its huge selection of talented filmmakers who normally contribute to the site and with their own staff filmmakers, who were selected from some of the funniest sites online, Atom manages to consistently have shorts that will lighten up the most boring of days.

Created on May 11, 2005, the same year as YouTube, Blip.tv has mimicked what network television channels offer but using the same resource Current TV uses: independent producers. It currently has about 48,000 independently produced Web shows and approximately 22,000,000 viewers. They share the revenue of their ads with the producers, which allows them to make some income from their shows and keep producing them and in exchange, Blip.tv gets a constant supply of episodes for their site. So what can you find on Blip.tv? Mostly, the site consists of series of shows, much like television shows, with genres like dating, technology, animation and a diverse group of fiction stories.

World Wide Internet TV (WwiTV)

WwiTV is more an aggregator than a video site, since it doesn’t store the videos itself, but merely points at videos in other sites. The reason it made this list is that it points at video channels from all over the world, so if you’d like to watch a soap opera from Azerbaijan or a music video from Vietnam, you can find it all on WwiTV. The quality is generally quite poor and the site itself is quite an eye sore, but where else would you find a North Korean video as top selection of the day followed closely by the Hellenic channel in Greece?

Hulu

Television channels seem to have noticed that trying to keep their shows out of streaming video sites is a lost battle. Their response seems to be finding partners who will help them deliver the content in its entirety and in higher quality than the ripped versions of the videos while sharing the ad revenue. One of such partner sites is Hulu. It carries content from many tv channels at very high streaming quality. The one catch is that it doesn’t have international streaming rights for their content outside the USA, so it’s for an American audience only.

Vimeo

Since it was created by filmmakers, Vimeo shows a very holistic and welcoming approach to video sharing. Vimeo tends to attract more professional filmmakers than other sharing sites, the video tends to be higher quality and the design certainly beats YouTube’s messy look. The community projects and groups also make it easy to find videos of a particular topic or subject matter and with almost 3 million members and over 17000 videos uploaded daily, there is a lot to choose from.

Stickam

The proposal of sites like Stickam is very innovative. Let the audience participate by streaming their own video live. For most part, it works in an exciting way. Some shows are scheduled and you can stream your own video as an audience member and talk to the hosts or video chat among other viewers. It’s like being part of a live audience and always carrying the mike. You can also watch pre-recorded shows and interviews.

The one issue is that for a large part of the day, the site seems to be inhabited by the people who are most at ease with webcams, young teenagers. Nothing intrinsically wrong with that, but if you are looking for some more experienced discussions you must select your live streams carefully.

UStream

The older, more mature version of Stickam, Ustream also allows people to create their own broadcasting channels and their own live shows. It does, though, carry live broadcasting from many mainstream media sites and it doesn’t allow people to join in with their video chats the way Stickam does, but it does have live text chat.

The topics tend to be more interesting than Stickam’s since it has a lot of contributions from professional journalists who decided to try the live interactive video format.

Blinkx

Why bother visiting a bunch of video sites looking for viral videos when you can find it all on one site? Boasting to be world’s largest video search engine with over 35 million hours of video from all major video sites, Blinx even claims to have indexed more media searches than Google. All you have to do is type in a keyword and you get results from major sites all at once.

There are literally thousands of streaming video sites to choose from, built just to entertain or inform you. Some are very niche, some copies of what we’ve already seen. The ones above are a taste of those I find myself checking out on a regular basis. What are your favorite ones and why?
