How do I download?

2. Install it.

The best feature of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on PS2 is probably that it doesn't give up any of the core modes that can be found in the current-gen editions. While the online mode is certainly a bit tougher to access than it is on 360 or PS3, the fact that it's there and has a functioning lobby system is a feather in the PS2's cap. Master League, Cup, World Tour (a mode only seen here and on the PSP), League, Match, and Training are included in this version and none feel stripped down in the slightest. You can still create your own player and sign him to your favorite team and you can still piece together up to 52 teams to compete in a number of unlicensed cup tournaments.

Master League is the star of the stable of modes as it lets you play the managerial role for your would-be powerhouse. You can participate in negotiations where you can pickup unsigned players for a price or you can see your team's estimated earnings for the year so you can budget your spending. While the fan snapshot and other pieces of personality have been removed, the Master League mode in the PSP and PS2 versions actually has a few more difficulty settings that can be tweaked.

The action on the pitch looks about as realistic as you should expect from a PS2 game. There are instances when you'll feel in less control than is ideal and players do occasionally move like they're on rails (though less than what is seen on PSP), but all in all the animations work well to deliver authentic football. The range of moves is fairly impressive and is more akin to the current-gen versions than the PSP game thanks to the right analog stick on the dualshock. Looking through PES's manual you'll find a laundry list of shot and cross types that can be pulled off.

We've talked about the upped presentation values of Pro Evolution Soccer in our reviews of the current-gen versions and we're happy to report that the PS2 rendition follows suit. While the menu systems obviously can't hold the same resolution as its bigger brothers, the style is the same and the fact that all of the introductory cutscenes are in place is cool to see.

As far as visuals go the PS2 version of PES takes the requisite step down when compared to the rest of the field. Players are sort of "fudged out" with some funny looking bodies and odd texture work, but that's to be expected when playing on older hardware. The good news is that the animations still perform fairly well, even if you don't feel like you're always in control. Crowds feature a static display of something that is intended to resemble fans, but fails. Luckily things stay fluid throughout all of the action, unlike the current-gen versions which have an odd tendency to chug during replays.

The audio in PES '08 on PS2 performs well with some nice crowd sounds that react well to the on-field action. It's also good to see commentating has remained in the game rather than being taken out like on the PSP. The duo's quips are insightful and add excitement and authenticity to the presentation. The soundtrack features the same tracks as the other versions, which is a shame because they're all horrible.

Closing Comments
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on PS2 is a very impressive soccer game, mainly because it mimics the current-gen versions so well. While it would have been nice to see a few specialized PS2 modes (a guy can dream), the fact that we can play through years in Master League with a created player and watch him develop is cool enough. Considering this is likely the last time we’ll see the series on PS2, PES 2008 isn’t a bad way to go out.

A literal “evolution” of Virtua Fighter 4 , Evo is, at its core, the same game as its predecessor. Though there are some significant additions to the title, with the most blatant being the two new characters, Goh and Brad.

Both characters physically resemble each other in a strange, hard-to-explain way, while simultaneously looking completely different. It’s an oxymoron if I ever saw one, but maybe after looking at them you’ll get an idea of what we mean. Maybe it’s their “edgy” looks, or the fact that they don’t really look like they belong in the Virtua Fighter universe. Regardless, the two fighters’ styles are drastically different, and that’s what really counts.

Devil May Cry 3 is an appropriate about-face for the most memorable of Capcom’s more recent franchises, one that started with a bang back in 2001 but flubbed its second outing two years ago.

Now Devil May Cry is back, once again featuring the irreverent, inhumanly strong half-demon Dante in the starring role, and it easily presents the series’ most challenging adventure yet. Devil May Cry 3 packs in a deep, outstanding combat system, plenty of spectacular story sequences, and lots of flair. Unfortunately, it’s unbelievably, unreasonably difficult at first. Think of the most punishing game you played in the last several years. Now, imagine the second or third level of this game being even harder than that. Overcoming Devil May Cry 3’s near-vertical learning curve could prove extremely frustrating, to the point where some players will justifiably give up after repeatedly failing the first few missions. That’s really too bad, because anyone who perseveres long enough to learn the ropes will probably agree that Devil May Cry 3 is one of the best PlayStation 2 action adventure games since the original.

NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 16, 2008 – For his first run through the obstacle course of the PlayStation® Skills Challenge, Utah Jazz point guard Deron Williams said he was a little nervous. He shook off those jitters very quickly.

After advancing to the final round, Williams put together a flawless performance - no missed shots, every pass through the hoops - and set a record time for the final round at NBA All-Star Saturday Night, winning another duel with perennial rival Chris Paul.

Not moving at full speed, Williams clocked 31.2 seconds in the first round. In the final round, he covered the course in 25.5 seconds, just one tick off the all-time mark set by Steve Nash in the first round in 2005. Paul, the All-Star point guard of the host New Orleans Hornets, posted a strong final-round time of 31.2.

A pair of Eastern Conference All-Star guards were eliminated in the first round. Jason Kidd of the New Jersey Nets clocked 39.7 seconds and two-time defending champion Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat lost his dribble and timed 53.9 seconds. Paul had the best first-round time at 29.9.

Since its US debut in 1987 on the NES, Konami’s Castlevania series has gone on to become one of the most popular franchises in video-game history, with releases on nearly every major platform (including the Super NES, Genesis, and GameBoy). The latest installment - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the PlayStation - is quite possibly the best 2D action side scroller ever.

Symphony takes place four years after Dracula X, a PC Engine title in Japan that never saw a US release. Unlike most previous Castlevania games, Symphony features a main character who isn’t one of the whip-cracking Belmonts. Stranger still, it turns out that our hero, Adrian Fahrenheit (aka Alucard), is actually a son of Dracula. Your task is to explore Dracula’s castle (rumored to only appear once a century) and find out why Richter Belmont, the hero of the first game (and descendant of the original Castlevania hero, Simon), has mysteriously vanished. Oh, and you’ve also got to kill quite a few monsters along the way…

Square’s Chrono Trigger got everything right. The self-proclaimed “dream team” of scenarist Yuji Hori (Dragon Quest), producer Hironobu Sakaguchi (Final Fantasy), and character designer Akira Toriyama (Dragon Ball Z) created a quirky, enjoyable romp through time with a cast of endearing characters, memorable environments, solid RPG gameplay, and unparalleled presentation. Needless to say, fans have clamored for a sequel ever since.

Which is why, after nearly five years of silence, the announcement of Chrono Cross drew so much ire. Where was the legendary dream team? (Only Sakaguchi contributed to Chrono Cross.) Where was the cast of characters we had grown to know and love? And who the hell was that Thundercats reject named Lynx? Things looked grim for the Chrono Trigger faithful. When Chrono Cross was revealed to have over 40 playable characters, many lost faith in the game entirely. Had Square thrown all pretense of a coherent story out the window?

Street Fighter EX2 Plus is the follow-up to Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha. Both games eschew the 2D style we’ve come to know from the Street Fighter series in favor of a polygonal approach, but the gameplay hasn’t entered the third dimension whatsoever. While EX2 Plus adds a few features and some new characters to the mix, it doesn’t really have the overall flair that made the first game stand out.

Diablo (PS1)

On the surface, Diablo is a dungeon-crawling action game. Wander through 15 levels of hack-and-slash glory that offer more immediate thrills than 90 percent of the more modern-looking games out there. First person? Bah. Over-the-shoulder views? Who needs ‘em. Diablo gets so much mileage out of a simple, third-person overhead view because of its incredible light sourcing and detailed characters, monsters, and death animations. If you’ve never seen the winged succubus fall face down in a pool of her own blood… well, you’re missing out. And some of these rooms are just teeming with monsters. It’s downright frightening when your character is literally swarmed on by a roomful of Death Knights. Luckily, you have at your disposal powerful magic and awesome fighting power. Nothing takes out two-score zombies with quite as much gusto as a dozen simultaneous Firewall spells, each of which is acting as its own light source.

Just what can be said about it that hasn't been said one thousand times previously?
It's one of the most successful series of all time, with 12 games in the main series that have been released on no fewer than six different consoles, and a variety of sequels and spinoffs that have been released on every console known to man.
