We all love browsing Internet to stay in touch with latest news, events and at the same time we like to stay connected with our friends, colleagues and family members through various chat services and social sites. Even I do the same, but sometimes it’s very annoying to open a new window or desktop client to use services like Facebook chat, Twitter or Google Talk.
But thanks to Firefox add-ons, it is possible to use all these 3 services in the Firefox sidebar without leaving current page you were reading. And it’s very useful too as you don’t have to leave your current page to check you’re new IM’s or tweet.
So, let’s see how to integrate Twitter, Facebook chat and Google chat in Firefox sidebar one by one.
Manager Twitter in Firefox sidebar : By using a Firefox add-on Twitkit+, you can manage your Twitter account in Firefox Sidebar. After installing and restarting Firefox, click on "Tools” option above and then "Twitkit” to set the preferences. You can check and perform all functions that other tweet application does and list are also supported in this add-on. You can change API limit, set URL shortening service, choose themes and set fonts size. I am sure that Twitkit+ is helpful for Twitter addicts who likes to connect with their Twitter account throughout the day.

Manage Facebook Chat in Firefox Sidebar : Now you can also put Facebook chat application in the Firefox sidebar. It’s pretty useful as you don’t have to check your online Facebook friends by opening Facebook homepage and you can chat with your online friends right in the Firefox sidebar.
To run the Facebook chat in Firefox sidebar, click on "Bookmarks” tools and then select "Organize Bookmarks” option. Now select "Bookmarks Toolbar” option and click on "New Bookmark” tab in "Organize” option above.
After clicking on "New Bookmark”, a pop-up will open like the image below.
Put this code in location field : http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php and tick on Load this bookmark in the sidebar. You can save this in "bookmarks toolbaar” so that single click will open Facebook chat.
Manage Google Chat in Firefox Sidebar : How about using Gtalk in Firefox sidebar instead of Google Talk desktop application or embedded in Gtalk ? I think it’s pretty much handy that while reading any page, we don’t have to leave the current page for replying the chat message.
gTalk Sidebar Extension help us to stay connected with our gtalk friends with in the Firefox sidebar.
